Instrument Design
The main body consists of laser-cut plywood components forming a traditional harp silhouette. A carved swan sits at the top peak, above a curved neck decorated with cornucopia-style floral patterns. Transparent plastic strings with decorative beads stretch from the upper gear housing down to the base.
Gear Movement
Internal metal and wooden mechanisms drive multiple moving elements across the structure. As the music box plays the tune “Jewelry of Virgin Mary,” the central vertical column rotates. Simultaneously, a system of interconnected exposed gears turns a six-petal flower and smaller decorative wheels along the upper arch.
Pedals and Stand
The lower section includes a multi-tiered wooden base equipped with foldable foot pedals. Adjacent to the main instrument, a separate small side table holds a scroll representing a classical music score and a decorative clock element. The base provides stability for the 285-millimeter tall structure.
Construction Details
The kit contains 350 individual parts made from plywood, metal, and plastic. Building the 200x115x285 mm structure takes approximately four hours. Rated at a four out of five difficulty level, the construction requires precise alignment of the gear trains and string mechanisms for proper mechanical operation.
