1. Accepted Payment Methods
We offer a flexible and secure checkout experience integrated with leading global payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). At checkout, our system dynamically displays the most relevant options based on your location:
- Credit & Debit Cards: We accept Visa and Mastercard.
- Mobile Wallets: Apple Pay and Google Pay are available when checking out from a compatible device (such as an iPhone, Mac, or Android device) or a browser with an active wallet configuration. This allows you to complete your purchase in a single click without manually entering card details.
- Local European Payment Methods: To ensure a seamless shopping experience across the EU, we support region-specific payment gateways. Depending on your billing and shipping country, you can pay using Klarna (buy now, pay later options based on local availability), BLIK and Przelewy24 (Poland), Giropay (Germany), iDEAL (Netherlands), and other local methods.
- PayPal: You can pay securely using your PayPal balance, linked bank account, or complete a guest checkout using a credit card via the PayPal gateway, which offers an extra layer of buyer protection.
2. Billing Currency & Bank Conversion
- Currency Display: Our company’s base currency is the Polish Zloty (PLN). However, for your convenience, our store automatically converts and displays prices in your local currency (e.g., Euros – EUR).
- Charges & Fees: We do not charge any hidden fees for payment processing. When paying by card, the transaction is handled by your issuing bank. If your bank account is in a currency different from the payment currency, your bank may convert the funds using its internal exchange rate and/or apply a foreign transaction fee. The final amount charged is determined solely by your bank’s terms.
3. Transaction Security & Data Protection
- Data Encryption: The entire checkout process on Hobby.Day is protected by industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption.
- No Card Storage (PCI-DSS): We do not collect, process, or store your full card details (card numbers or CVV codes) on our store’s servers. Your payment data is encrypted and transmitted directly to the payment processors (Stripe or PayPal), both of which hold the highest level of security certification (PCI-DSS Level 1).
- Strong Customer Authentication (SCA): In compliance with the European PSD2 directive, transactions may require an extra 3D Secure verification step. Please be prepared to authorize the payment via your bank’s mobile app or a one-time SMS code.
4. Billing Address & Anti-Fraud Protection
Our payment gateways utilize strict anti-fraud filters to protect against unauthorized card use:
- The billing address you provide at checkout must exactly match the address registered with your card-issuing bank.
- If the billing address does not match your bank’s records, the transaction will be automatically declined by the security system, even if there are sufficient funds. Please ensure you do not confuse the shipping address with your billing address.
5. Common Payment Failures & Troubleshooting
If your payment is declined, it is usually due to bank-imposed restrictions. We recommend trying the following solutions:
- 3D Secure Failure: Ensure you have authorized the push notification or entered the SMS code sent by your bank.
- International Transaction Blocks: Our company is registered in Poland (EU). If your card was issued in another country, your bank might pre-emptively block the transaction for security reasons. Please contact your bank or use their app to enable international online purchases.
- Card Limits: Verify that you have not exceeded your daily or monthly online spending limits.
- Data Entry Errors: Double-check that your card number, expiration date, and CVV code were entered correctly.
- Alternative Solution: If direct card payment via Stripe keeps failing, we highly recommend choosing PayPal at checkout. This gateway often has a higher success rate for international transactions.
