Hull Framework
The 465x460x367 mm structure utilizes interlocking wooden pieces to form a curved load-bearing keel. Exposed ribs line the bottom section, supporting a flat deck. The bow ends in a segmented dragon head profile. Assembly requires fitting 229 pre-cut components together over an estimated four hours.
Mechanical Gear System
A prominent sun-shaped flywheel dominates the center of the vessel. It consists of layered wooden and clear acrylic gears with visible teeth. Turning the mechanism sets the internal cogs in motion. This central drive links to the side oars, translating rotational energy into synchronized rowing movements.
LED Lighting Elements
An integrated lighting system outlines the upper arch of the central wheel. Warm LED diodes sit behind the curved wooden spine, shining through the transparent acrylic gear layers. The light illuminates the mechanical interior and the jagged outer edge, operating independently of the puzzle’s mechanical parts.
Shields and Oars
Four decorative round shields line each side of the upper deck rail, featuring cross-shaped center cutouts. Below them, a row of long oars extends outward. Each oar has a black shaft connecting to a wide wooden blade, arranged to move simultaneously when the central gear rotates.
Presentation Stand
The completed vessel rests on a custom wooden base with anchor-shaped side supports. The center plaque displays the Rokr logo above an engraved Tales of Valor banner. This stand stabilizes the puzzle during operation of the mechanical parts and keeps the moving oars elevated above surfaces.
